Professional Experience: Rob Vest has been in the Environmental Health and
Safety field for nearly 30 years. His management experiences vary from the
private industrial sector to education. He has performed various safety duties
at larger-scale petro-chemical construction sites worldwide and has also been in
charge of environmental health and safety management for an 80-plant fiberboard
manufacturer, a Fortune 500 company. Rob has been at Northern Illinois
University for 25 years, first as Safety Officer, then in 1989 as Director of
Environmental Health and Safety.
His experience at NIU ranges from project management of all aspects of
construction safety, environmental health issues, fire safety, training and code
requirements, asbestos program coordination, hazardous and biological waste
programs as well as radiation issues.
